I ran a viator in race #1. Kept up with the slow covert ops through to the first checkpoint in Ami. Then I warped to wrong object. With that experience, I managed to streamline the next three checkpoints, Amod, Aring, and Kudi. At Shajarleg which was in low sec, I ran into some people leaving the system including a covert ops, so I figured I was not far behind the stragglers. I warped in on the checkpoint in Shajarleg and almost died. It was quite the mess. I don't know how many ships were there, but I'd guess at least a dozen, many yellow or flashy (solid green is my flashing red color ). I warped in on top of someone so my cloak dropped. I imediately initiated warp to a random planet and looked at the can name. I don't know what happened, but my warp failed for some reason, could have been a scrambler, could have been lag. I hit the AB and tried again. This time I warped out.
I recalled the moon wrong so I ended up at Moon 12 instead of Moon 10 wondering where everyone was. Once I figured out which moon I was supposed to go to, I warped in, I accessed the can (after a bm, and a quick warp out and in) and finished the race. In the loot spree, I picked up a claw. No sexy fittings though.
I got a couple of lame screenshots (my fit and some empty space in Omom on my way to Amod, the second checkpoint). Wish I gotten a screenshot of the Shaj mess, but I was too rattled to think of it.
And the viator fit:
high: covert cloak med: 10 MN AB II, azeo shield extender, true sansha EM amp low: 3x inertial stabs II
riggings: 2xhyperspatial things I
implants: the +10% warp speed one and the -3% agility one. I had an agility of 0.21 and a warp speed of 14.2 AU/s. Throwing more isk at the problem, I could have gotten most of the nomad implants (except for slot 6 which would be occupied by the warp speed one, I think), +15% warp speed, and -5% agility implant. That would have cut off about a minute, I think on my racing time. But with the quantity of mistakes, no way I was finishing competitively.
